Business Need	The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) needed to Design, develop, execute, operate, maintain and sustain the ieFACMAN program.
Solution	The ieFACMAN application is NAVFAC's enterprise application for integrating the end-to-end facility production chain including work, maintenance, projects, contracts, construction and programs. ieFACMAN includes a Data Store (iDS) that aggregates and denormalizes information from 11 transactional systems. ieFACMAN is a gateway and reporting application whose integrated modules are deployed on a common infrastructure (Oracle 10g), code-base (Java modules), and database (Oracle 10g).
Benefits	By integrating core functions and systems, ieFACMAN provides a very cost-effective method to provide transformational capability as compared to traditional integration methods. From an architectural standpoint, ieFACMAN uses a Java-based model driven service framework, a common database and infrastructure. This allows NAVFAC to easily incorporate new business requirements and evolving user needs.
